Samsung CycloneForce Repair Attempt

Today I took the opportunity to see if I could fix one of my two broken Samsung robot vacuums.

The first one will run for 7 minutes and will then the suction would stop (fix yet to be attempted, but I thought I would take apart the more crippled of the the two before attempting this one)

My 2nd Samsung robot vacuum would not drive correctly, it always seemed to struggle to go straight and sometimes would just go in circles. Found that one wheel would spin with little resistance. Guess it is a stripped gear. So I took it apart to see…..

Found these videos:

I only needed to watch the first video to get to the wheel. But what I found was not a stripped gear as I had thought, but rather a stripped wheel. Here are pictures of what the issue is. Here is the coupling from the motor/gearbox.

But you can see below that the wheel has been stripped out and the plastic “square” has been destroyed. This is the ONLY reason this robot vacuum does not work.

I might give it to a friend of mine to see if they can 3d print a new wheel to get it going again. But now I know why it was going around in circles.
