I have only gotten political one other time on my blog, but the firing of Dr Feagins has shown me once again that the school board is more interested in their power over the education of the children of Shelby County.

Although I did not agree with everything Dr Feagins has done, she was making meaningful positive change for the district. She is the first Superintendent I recall going into schools, talking to teachers, and more importantly, students to see what needed to be improved.

The trumped up charges, even if true, were far below the threshold for firing IMO and should have been dismissed has errors or oversights and really had no impact on the education of the students, while her engagement and leadership has had a positive impact on the students in the district.

If the state legislature has/does pass the law allowing recall elections, I will be seeking out the petition to recall those who voted to terminate Dr Feagins because they are the real danger to Shelby County Students.
