Wemo End of Support

Got this email from Belkin:

Hi there,

We’re reaching out with a final reminder that support for select Wemo products in the Wemo app will end in one week on January 31, 2026. After this date, the Wemo app and cloud-based features such as remote access and voice assistant integrations will no longer function. If your Wemo product is set up for use with Apple HomeKit, it will continue to function with Apple HomeKit after January 31, 2026. If your Wemo product works with Thread, it will continue to function with Thread after January 31, 2026.

If your product is still under warranty on or after January 31, 2026, you may be eligible for a refund.

Please visit belkin.com/wemo for more information on affected products, refund eligibility and setup instructions for continued use via Apple HomeKit. After January 31, 2026, you will no longer be able to setup your Wemo product to work with Apple HomeKit, so you must do so before that date if you want to use your Wemo product with Apple HomeKit in the future.

Products that will continue to work through Apple HomeKit:

To help minimize disruption, several Wemo products will still function locally through the Home app:

Wemo Smart Light Switch 3-Way (WLS0403, WLS0503)
Wemo Wi-Fi Smart Light Switch with Dimmer (WDS060)
Wemo Smart Light Switch (WLS040)
Wemo HomeKit Bridge (F7C064)
Wemo Dimmer Light Switch (F7C059)
Wemo Mini Plugin Switch (F7C063)
Wemo Outdoor Plug (WSP090)
Wemo Mini Smart Plug (WSP080)
Wemo Stage Smart Scene Controller (WSC010)
Wemo Smart Plug with Thread (WSP100)
Wemo Smart Video Doorbell (WDC010)

We know this change may disrupt your routine, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. We thank you for your support and understanding.

With appreciation,

Belkin Customer Service

Editor Note: I have a number of these smart switches and used them with my Amazon Alexa as well as IFTTT Applets. I am NOT happy about having to re-purchase new smart devices because of this (and I know there has been a lot of complaints on-line from others). If Belkin is going to end support, they should give the community the info so we can hack the devices to keep using them in other ways! I am going to try HOME ASSISTANT that says they can directly control Wemo without the cloud service, but I will have to see how easy it is to integrate with my other home automation devices.
