The Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023, annular solar eclipse will cross North, Central, and South America. It will be visible in parts of the United States, Mexico, and many countries in South and Central America.
An annular solar eclipse happens when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, but when it is at or near its farthest point from Earth. Because the Moon is farther away from Earth, it appears smaller than the Sun and does not completely cover the Sun. As a result, the Moon appears as a dark disk on top of a larger, bright disk, creating what looks like a ring around the Moon. The next annular eclipse in the U.S. will be on Oct. 14, 2023.

Memphis Museum of Science and History (MoSH – formerly the Pink Palace) is supposed to be doing there STEAM Festival Oct 4-7 and Oct 25-27 but I don’t have details beyond that as of yet.
Hawking was born exactly 300 years to the day of Galileo’s death and died on the anniversary of Einstein’s birth. And just as it was Galileo who experimented with gravitational physics, and Einstein who created new theories of gravity and the atom, Hawking devoted much of his energies to link them into a unified theory. He did this by thinking about what a black hole would look like and how it would behave if it were the size of an atom.(1)
It should also be noted that he died on March 14, 2018. That was Pi Day 3.14!
